Awhile back there was a letter written to a newspaper editor. In it the woman was very upset about people raising and killing their own animals for food. She didn't understand why everyone just didn't go to the grocery store where they make the food. Whether or not the article was true, it paints the picture of where humanity, especially Americans, are at. In the last 60 years we have went from being able to sustain ourselves to expecting the government to take care of our needs. We've handed in our ability of taking care of ourselves for the conveniences of our selfish desires. We call it advancement but we are actually crippling ourselves in the long run. The policies our politicians are putting in place have one purpose and one purpose only. Get them re-elected by the voters and put money in their coffers from corporations.
The total world debt is over $70 TRILLION. That's right. $70,000,000,000,000.00. If you added up all the paper investments the banks are on the hook for, the outstanding balance sheet of the world would be approaching $4,000,000,000,000,000.00. Whether you want to believe it not, the world is about to change drastically. Unfortunately, the egotistical politicians think they are to smart to have it happen on their watch. If we look at the example that God has given us in what is happening in Greece, we know that the government is not the place to put our faith. The supermarket shelves are bare, the ATM's are empty, no one has enough money on hand for gas.
My point here is not to push my agenda or a spirit of fear. If you've read the bible you should be expecting things to change for the worst. Jesus said we would be pursecuted for our faith. Our best weapon is prayer. Through prayer our faith is activated. The best weapon against fear is faith. When we put our trust in God and walk the path He has laid out for us, then there is nothing to fear. Today's christian has the same view of God as most American's do about the government. They expect to sit back and God will just magically put food on the table and money in the bank without lifting a finger. This reminds me of the story of the man that drowned in a flood. When he got to heaven he asked God why he didn't save him. God replied, 3 times I sent help. The first was the guy in the jeep when the waters started flooding the road, but you said no, God will save me. The second was the guy in the boat after the waters rose to the second story. Once again you said no, God will save me. And thirdly I sent the guy in the helicopter when the waters rose to the roof tops. Once again you said no, God will save me. See, I tried to save you 3 times but you didn't recognize my help. Christians seem to have the same mind set about America's current debacle. They say: "God will take care of my needs. I don't need to be prepared." They would rather sit and watch American Idol or follow the Kardashians.
On Oct 20th, the IMF, International Monetary Foundation, will release an alternative reserve currency to the dollar. They of course are keeping their lips sealed. At this point there is only speculation on what it will be. In my mind, it will be one of 2 currencies. The most obvious is the Chinese Yuan backed by the gold standard. A few years ago this would not be possible because the US had the IMF in their back pocket. But recently China sends the IMF more money and the IMF is getting tired of the war mongers in Washington. This is a real possibility. The second option is a completely new currency ran directly from the IMF backed by gold or silver in hopes of beating the Chinese to the plate. What ever happens, the effects in the US and Europe will be the same. Inflation and possibly hyper-inflation. Why? The central banks of both the EU and the US pump out billions of dollars and Euro's monthly from their printing presses to expand the monetary base in hopes of kick starting their respective economies. But when a new currency is available world wide with actual value to it, other countries will be trading in their Euro's and dollar's for this new currency. When all these dollars come rushing back into the US and Europe with no place to go, you have inflation. In the US's case, we are likely to see hyper-inflation. This means that the loaf of bread you just bought goes from a $1 to $10 in a week and by the end of the month you can only buy a slice for that price. There are hundreds of billions of dollars sitting in foreign countries so they can buy oil and our exports. It's very possible that overnight, all this money could be transferred back to the US.
You better start getting on your knees and asking God for direction and wisdom on how to prepare. Not out of fear, but out of faith. Because hundreds of millions of American's are going to need help and through our generousity, the gospel will be served and Christ glorified.
