I don't know much about the guy – he's a Seventh Day Adventist, right?
And Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43)”. You'd think it couldn't be any clearer. It's pretty much the same in most interpretations. Apparently, there were no commas in the original Greek. The New World Translation (the only English translation - used by Jehovah's Witnesses) places the comma after the word today which potentially changes it's meaning. But, Jesus said "Truly I say to you" 64 times in Greek scripture and not once said "today" afterwards. Also, the way Jesus spoke throughout the gospels gives the impression that there should be a comma after the word 'truth'. Personally, I'm looking forward to being in paradise with my lovely Jesus when I 'pop my clogs' some day

i only liked his testimony of coming to Christ... but there was something that turned me off & i wanna guess it was a belief that the gifts have passed away or something major like that. i don't remember. i think the omission of testing the fruits of an experience and watching it's overall fruit is a sad misstep. granted, i don't know allllll the details, but there are so many heaven/hell experiences & you watch how the people were dramatically impacted after them....especially when doctors say 'yep, they were dead'. Jesus is at the rt hand & where he goes, there we shall also be

If my bro is in heaven now that is lovely. If he is sleeping and he wakes in heaven before popping back for 1000 years that is lovely too. Jesus is The Truth. We will be fine. We know why the JWs chose their particular interpretation of punctuation. It is to support their doctrine of, 'I'm off to prepare a few mansions but far less than you'd hope for.' Links in lovely with their belief in works and tendency to feel guilt. My God is big, huge, enormous (I have no words to describe a God who stretched out the heavens and designed the DNA of every living thing).
