I watched Back to Eden in early 2012 and have been using this method in my garden ever since. It is awesome! I loved listening to Paul Gautschi talk. I remember telling people after watching the film that I felt like I had just heard a great sermon at church - hehe. This is some of my crazy huge harvest of cherry tomatoes from 2012. I said, "Even with dehydrating and giving away, I can't keep up!" And this was even a year that many of the plants were damaged by a typhoon.

i FINALLY am watching this... it's what we r doing, LOL. the rabbits have lots of our cut grass fall thru their cages and so that & their poo... the chickens go thru it & take what they want. we heap it into a pile every so often. then every so often we can smash the big pile open & it's loaded w/ more bugs for the chickens & so they scratch some more. eventually we scoop up that big pile outside the chicken area & it sits for a year & then i use that to put into the gardens & it's totally a 'dirt-mulch'. totally nutritious & a nice look too for no cost. I put some of the yr old stuff up close to the house this year.... it did stink for 3 days...but who cares?? LOL, it doesn't now. weeds come up & i still have to use a hoe, but that's cuz it's not thick yet. i had an area w/ the compost & then bare ground next to it & it was crazy the weed difference & also the labor to remove them. instead of buying bedding... we rake & store pine needles or dry leaves in the fall. use them in the hen house, etc. then that ends up in the compost pile too. we haven't even begun to really do stuff w/ the goat waste.... i did manage to put a layer of their hay/poop waste over my potatoes... I added a pict. i took the other day of my lil guy... in the background is our compost mulch... at first glance you just figure we bought tons of mulch somewhere. this kind of 'waste not' gardening lifestyle is such a no-brainer... it's better, it's no burden on the wallet...yes, it's some work, but it pays in the long run. it's just like how we are all breaking free from 'spiritual programming'....it's the same w/ this stuff too. all over, God is speaking to people to get back to the core... the simplicity of spirituality, of living...of walking & talking w// Him to guide us in what we are to do. to quit relying on quick fixes & the things of man. LOVE it

ha well our local city offers the yard waste mulch free by the truck load. so dad watched this and decided he is gona buy a small dump truck, we go get a bunch of free loads to get everything in place ( we got a lot of area to cover). then when we have it all covered and a pile to add as needed of the free stuff, he is gona sell the dump truck for more than he paid (thats kind of his side gig anyway). so in the next few months a whole lot is gonna happen over here. and we got 5 new sheep too!
