And another praise report. I originally found F1 abt 2 years ago when I met God and "out of nowhere" had the desire to receive the gift of tongues. Upon consulting all-knowing Google about whether or not I could receive without the laying on of hands, I found her videos. Thanks to her advice, I was able to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yeah! But was very disappointed that I could not speak in tongues. I joined this forum in March of last year to ask for prayer and advice regarding this (and for physical healing for my son and I - which we got last September!). Well, I'm pretty sure I've finally started!! I started "practicing" a couple days ago, and today I was listening to music with headphones on so that I couldn't hear myself speaking, and I was concentrating on the words of the music so that I was not at all aware of what my mouth was saying and I could just go on and on. And I feel as if I have just received a fresh infilling of the Spirit - kinda like when I was first baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Hm, I just remembered something interesting. Back to March of last year... I was so frustrated with our health problems and also not being able to speak in tongues and I had heard that fasting is good when you need a breakthrough. I had never fasted before and decided to try it for 3 days. (The 1st day of the fast is when I contacted F1 and joined Iron Smiths.) On the 3rd day I was unable to stand up in the kitchen to make dinner for my family so broke the fast and ate. (It was after this fast that God started pointing me to sound teaching regarding divine healing.) Since then I have only fasted 24 hours at a time. But recently I'm desperate to grown in hearing God's voice and decided to try a 3-day fast again. And this week, during that fast, is when I finally started speaking in tongues! Ha! I'd been asking God to help me and show me what was wrong. So during the fast, a friend "happened" to send me some teaching regarding tongues that was the clincher, so to speak.
