What do *you* do when a JW comes a-knockin? Do you think 2 John 10-11 applies to them? "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds." I used to just turn them away saying I was a Christian and had different beliefs. But after I fell in love with Jesus and His Word I started going out and engaging them in conversation. I just had a looooong talk with a JW lady at my door and now I feel.... icky. (Maybe her denying that Jesus is God made me sick?? ) Maybe next time I should just say, "Hey, I'm a JW too! A JESUS witness!" lol JESUS!! The Name above ALL names!!

Its difficult. I try to be nice and take them through scripture in their NWT aiming to look at the alpha and omegas in Isaiah and Revelation which conclusively shows that Jesus is Jehovah. However, I have found that they don't want to go through scripture but prefer to direct conversations, rather like salesmen with a script.

But what about 2 John 10-11? "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds." --> Are we even SUPPOSED to engage them in conversation when they come? <-- Warrior, your comment got me all fired up to look up verses in THEIR "bible". I made up a little chart showing verses where Jehovah and Jesus are both called Alpha & Omega, liked you mentioned, as well as First and Last, and others. And what about Isaiah 9:6?? "a child has been born to us ... His name will be called ... Mighty God, Eternal Father"?? She came for the 3rd time today. She happens to be very open to going thru scripture, but it really does no good. She explains it all away. Sigh~ I asked her if she had any pain in her body so I could show her that Jesus still heals today but she didn't.

I think what seems 'mean' is justified pretty clearly in that passage. Mixture is like a disease cuz spirits are involved. (If we think about the old test. --On how He commanded they destroy all the people in overpowering other nations..its cuz of that very thing) we have authority over spirits but that must b exercised... But do we even do that? Any engagement needs it as a behind-the-scenes-protocol no matter what we face. Spirits of error, Antichrist, bondage, manipulation...what ever else as He leads. I think being sensitive to the Holy Spirits leading is most important because we can plant a seed w out engaging n He'll prod us if anything needs said. Only He knows if their heart is bent towards Him n only He has the one smooth stone to get inside. Think of when King Saul disobeyed Gods commands n Saul's wrong motives behind it all. Ouch. So if we surrender n are led of the Holy Spirit...nuff said. I love the prayer for healing...a show of His power! Or to ask if can simply pray over them n who knows waa He'll do...prophesy... Heal?
U guys Kno I have a heart for the body... The only time I've been led to engage more than bluntness of stating truths of who Jesus is n the dichotomy of what they r fed is when they have a new recruit along for training. I lovingly encourage mutiny w testing the word to see if it is so (I think that's y they quit coming). Encouraging especially a study of the original Greek n Hebrew intent to compare.
obey the Word, but b sensitive to the Holy Spirit is what I think. ----N burn up those tracts they leave so no sticky residue for curses, lol
