Amen Jeem. Wesley was 'on fire' for God. He read the same Bible we read. He saw the words of God and believed. How much harder was it for him. He read all this stuff about Israel when there was no such country, surrounded by enemies. And yes the gifts will be a big part of the last days but so will the mockers. It is not wisdom to doubt the word of God and question His Holy Spirit.

Peter was quoting from O.T. book of Joel about the future outpouring of the Holy Spirit in "THE LAST DAYS" ... visions, dreams, prophecy ..and "that which you see and hear" (tongues and prophecy). Acts 2
If Mac and cessationists are right in saying that these gifts "have passed away", ... then that would logically mean THE LAST DAYS MUST HAVE PASSED AWAY too.
It's OVER. THE LAST DAYS ARE OVER ?? What! ? !! How come nobody told me ...
- Paul said that prophecy and tongues 'shall cease' ... when 'that which is perfect comes'. Has my 'tongues' ceased? Nope. (hasn't even slowed down. lol)
So has "the perfect" come? Well, I'm thinkin .. NOPE! I'm still sitting here praying/praising IN TONGUES .. along with 600 million other 'tongues speaking' believers .. so obviously tongues have not yet "ceased".
And obviously "That which is perfect" has NOT yet come ... and will only come when our perfect Lord appears. I don't remember seeing our perfect Lord Jesus return in the clouds (and He said that "EVERY eye shall see Him") .. nor do I remember being caught up in the air to meet Him. (I'm pretty sure I'd remember that).
And my body has DEFINATELY not been transformed into a glorified imperishable body. (sigh )
His feet have not touched down on the Mount Of Olives .. and He's NOT ruling this world from Jerusalem ...
So maybe, just maybe .. the "last days" are not really over??
.. Of course "the last days are NOT over! ... which means "the promise of the Father" (the baptism in the Holy Spirit) and the promises of Christ and gifts of the Holy Spirit are STILL for "ALL GENERATIONS".Acts 2:38,39
Ya, I know I'm "preachin to the choir", at the same time tho ... - The leadership of our charismatic choir brethren out there need to get their act together and start holding each other and their ministries accountable to discipline and weed out some of the whacky "charismaniac" antics and showmanship etc that is going on in their groups .. things that are NOT of the Spirit (which the whole world now sees on youtube). - Until then guys like Mac will continue on their self appointed mission and stand before the non-charismatic believers to "warn" and alarm them in their conferences, books, podcasts etc and pointing only to the crazy displays of the flesh (not of the Spirit) of a small minority ...labeling us ALL as deceived/dangerous/demonic ... thus throwing the baby out with the bathwater. (denouncing charismatics/Pentecostalism has been going on for many decades, but now with a renewed effort on a large scale).
It IS disturbing but the good news is - It Just Ain't Gonna Work. They can refuse to see and to enter in ... and can stand in the door to divert others from entering in ... but the Holy Spirit has His own way of bringing people in and no organized effort by anyone is going to stop Him.
This last century is increasingly like no other since the beginning of the Church. A handful of people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit a hundred years ago (1906) ... and we are now Half a BILLION ... and growing. ( are we not in "the last days" when He is pouring out His spirit?)
After 2000 years Israel is suddenly a nation once again ... Jerusalem is now inhabited by the Jews.
At the same time tho .. iniquity is increasing profoundly in "post Christian" America, Europe and developed nations. Anti -Christ Islam is on the move again.. subtley weakening and taking control of democracies. ... and Israel is surrounded by her enemies. Yet the gospel is reaching the poor in neglected Asia and Africa and people getting saved WITH THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT by leaps and bounds .. with persecution. Worldwide persecution of Christians in near future is hard NOT to see. Are we not in the "last days" ?

Mac will not stop attacking Charismatics. He worships a lesser god. It is outside his experience and I guess he'd have to be blind to the Bible to hold his view. There are folks out there who seek to 'sell' a less powerful God (oxymoron alert). They never attack the lukewarm church. They never attack those who base their salvation on works. They are perfectly aligned with their father. Yes, discernment is needed to rebuke and correct those who are operating outside the Holy Spirit. We don't have to do that for Mac but for Christ. Much bigger to me is the 'church' that puts limits on God. Rant over.

Some of you may find this pastor's feedback on the 'Strange Fire' conference interesting. I'm not necessarily saying that I agree with him 100%, but I do think that he makes some good points. Whatever the case, I think that he may very well get attacked from both sides after expressing his views in this video on the matter.
