I have a question about baptism. I was baptized as an infant by sprinkling with water by the catholic priest. However, that was many years ago and I'm wondering if I need to be baptized again like under the water? I know I am saved and have gift of tongues. So is water baptism again needed?? My husband doesn't think so. What do you think. Thanks.

i feel the important thing is the recognition of the act. i do feel people need to be conscious of what is going on... but if you knew it took place and laid hold of it for yourself then the deed is done. there are many that feel they need to really experience it and 'be there' and have memory, unlike as a baby... so if you need that, then it doesn't need to be pomp & circumstance... even in the bathtub, LOL. but some do like the solemn ritual thing to make it more special. either way...if it 'bugs' you... do it again... reaffirmations aren't a pain in the Father's ear. if you look at the fruit in your life & lay hold of it... then just tell the enemy to shut his trap about it, cuz he's the king of invalidation.

why have any question? its an easy thing. plus that reminds me of peter in acts. he was teaching and the people all got baptized in the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues. the first thing peter did was have them all baptized in water. there must be some reason. and as a baby you didn't get to choose. i think its wise to choose to be baptized. if its not the wrong thing to do and the only risk is over kill then there really is no reason not to.

I do understand Kay's point of view. I was a recipient of infant baptism and had grown up to 'recognise one baptism'. I studied it for a long time and refused full immersion baptism until one day when I 'knew' I needed to do it - not by study but by revelation. Even so, I agree with HG. Do it if the Holy Spirit puts it on your heart.

I too knew I needed to do it again. You can pray about it, and see what happens.
