my kids are getting older and they are always riding their bikes and its getting close to time to get my oldest off training wheels and riding on his own. but i couldn't say much cuz i never did it lol. i cant teach what i dont know. i never had a bicycle as a kid. my friend once thought it was so embarrassing that he made me learn to ride and not fall down when i was like 15 lol but that one day was the only time i ever rode a bike. so a couple weeks ago i stopped in to a flea market and found a broken down old bike in the back that she was gonna fix and sell. so bought my first bike at 32 years old:) and it needed a tire and the gears didnt work so the bike shop guy rigged it to just stay in one gear all the time for 12 buck and BAM my bike is up and running. so today i got out with the kids and for the first time in my life i rode my very own bicycle. it was pretty cool. and now i can actually model for my kids something that they need to see. they need to see that its possible and even normal to step things up. this is my favorite part of parenting learning something new so that i can show my kids the way they should go. its amazing how honestly answering your kids will make you grow up so much. but if you lie to them your whole family will be stuck in the dark and the training wheels may never come off.

u kno... i was repainting something the other day & all the sudden i heard a hissing sound & immediately pinpointed it as one of my kids bike leaning against a tree. the moment i looked at the tire, the thing blew up in a 'BaNg' and scared me, LOL. i think we need some new ones, lol.... realizing these things are pretty old.
