Hi, It´s my first thread on this forum, so excuse me if I´m posting it in the wrong place but it seems to be the right place.
I really would like to know your thoughts about something that came to my mind. I was reading about generational curses and scripture that mentions that, and it came to my mind the following question: "What if you are a born again Christian baptized with the Holy Spirit, and you already plead the blood of Jesus and broke any generational curse but your parent keeps involved in iniquities (witchcraft, idolatry, etc)? You are under the blood of Jesus, but does the enemy have the right to attack you? We must pray and be alert all the time, but do you believe that the enemy has the right to attack you only because of your parent current actions, even after you have accepted Jesus and broke any generational curse?"
Thanks for your thoughts. God bless you all, and have a blessed week.

you have dealt with them once and that is all that is needed. now, mind you... the enemy will oft try to trick people into believing he has the upper hand and that's where you really havta take all thoughts captive. doubt from the truth (that's it's finished) can create a foothold. some people will even have symptoms of a family illness & the doubt (fear, negative confessions etc.) will let it right on in. instead they should remind the enemy he has no rights or authority and command it leave and then build up on faith so they are 'having done all things, stand'. it can be hard in instances like that because the physical symptoms are screaming and saying 'this is the truth- you are sick!'... but it is only a shady lie. we must press on through symptoms and 'feelings' and boldly cling to the truth and faith will come and cut that thing out. this is a good one to fight with: "For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother." Matthew 12:50 indeed we honor and respect 'family' but we have given over ourselves to citizenship of His kingdom and in doing so, the earthly order has passed away and everything we turn over to the Lord is now His. a good analogy is when a couple gets married...the parental authority is now cut off...respect and honor are due but there is no more asking permission. your covenant and in turning over the generational curses to Jesus has completely cut satans permission. hope that makes sense

Thanks for your answer hearingGod. I totally agree with you. Because you have a right that doesn´t mean you can´t be attacked - it does mean that you can use authority to resist that attack. I will give you an example of the situation I mentioned: Imagine you have broke every generational curses in your life in the name of Jesus Christ, and you are indeed free. Imagine that about a month after you doing that one of your parents starts a adulterous relationship. Or for example that your parents are catholic and keep worshiping idols (idolatry sin). I know that what was broke was broke, but do you think that this actual and future actions of them opens door to your life? Are you gonna repent every single day for something that they are willingly doing?

no. now if a person had done gen. deliverance but had not yet received the baptism in the H. S. i'd see an opening there.... but not in your case. gen. deliverance plus a 'new covenant' in the baptism of the H.S. cuts off all claims to you since you have surrendered yourself to HIM the baptism in the holy spirit is what the 'no more eating sour grapes' Jeremiah 31:29 passage is 'really' referring to in the scripture. also note that w/ that covenant comes authority, so when you see family going wayward, bind the opposite truth from the word to them and loose the enemy from them in your prayer time. we often just shake our heads and say 'there they go again'... and then forget to pray (i'm guilty of that!), but we need to get on the offense and quit tiptoe-ing around playing defense."...thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven"

Thanks for your reply. Makes sense. I went out for this past weekend and have been reading some books by John Eckhardt - "Lets us alone - The cry of demons", "Demon Hit List", "Loose Thyself", "Identifying and Breaking curses". Any opinions about John Eckhardt books?

I agree with hearingGod; we don't agree with their sin but neither do we condemn them. The way we would honor our parents here is to pray for them. I wouldn't feel any obligation to confront them in the physical unless guided by the Holy Spirit in the way He shows. God is much better at dealing with these things than us.
