" Mr. Prophet" ... LOL!
... or should it be "Mr. Profit". he he he.
I think they're related to a lot of the "Mr. Televangelists". ...
"Your tithe belongs to God! ... and here's my address". LOL
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Anyway ...
Brother "Build the farm" .. ( is that your real name?) lol How about BTF for short? : )
Sounds like u already have some good advice on finding a good church.
I'd just like to add one thing .. something for your kids that F1 mentioned.
I still remember the first Bible verse I memorized. I was so proud of my self.
It was at AWANA. I was 9 years old.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast". Ephesians 2:8-9
(We only had the King James version back then). lol
I will ALWAYS remember that verse.
Didn't know what it meant until I got saved that same year. ... kneeling in our living room praying with my mom and "asked Jesus into my heart".
.. (Thanks mom) <3
All day at school I would think about all the fun I'd be having with my friends at AWANA that night.
( of course little by little I learned scripture and lessons).
Learned archery and how to swim and stuff during the summer at Camp Awana (2 hours away in Wisconsin)
... and how to stand up and give my "testimony" during campfire time.
In High school our church youth group went there for all our retreats
( Ya, I went mostly for the girls.....but we'll skip that part here. LOL LOL)
.. but I guess I turned out OK
- SO ...years later my two sons went to Awana too.
They also went to "Royal Rangers" at our Assembly of God church, but they liked Awana more.
(one nice thing tho about the Royal Rangers camp .. the day my son came home from camp, at bedtime he said
"Dad, I got the baptism of the Holy Spirit".
Anyway, Before leaving for their meetings they practiced their scripture verses with me.
Brought back memories.
They went to camp Awana too ... like I did.
- And NOW, two of THEIR kids have started Awana ...
learning those SAME SCRIPURES their dad's learned
... and that their grandpa learned ...
Third generation now
