after our meeting today, where we made a list of some goals for ministry over the next year, and talked about what we did last year, i left church and decided i want to go somewhere else. it was the most boring thing ever and so was last years meeting. God is not boring! God doesnt want to have a meeting to discuss what the mens ministry should be like. i dont have anything against my church or any of the other churches ive been to but they all seem to be set on medium and i want to find a place thats on high. i want next years plans to include raising the dead, healing the sick, prophesying, and casting out demons and i want nothing to do with committee meetings. WHERE ARE YOU CHURCH!?!?!?!?!?!?!? as an adult i havent been to a church that would dare suggest that we plan on taking a shot at telling a mountain to throw itself in the sea next year and see what happens. FIELD TRIP!! lol how do i find a bold church. how do i find a church on fire?

...that's y we started doing church at home... my sympathies exactly. in the past...even where we did find some fire... it was growing cold because of fear of change (and control) & we hit our heads on the glass ceiling of the petri dish too many times.
i personally feel like i go to church two times a week cuz of the prayer sessions ;D
anyways... we have visitors to our home church from time to time, but i have a feeling the relentless end-time birth-pangs will cause it to grow.
ask Him....coz we know He wants you in FiRE too! Amen, show him Lord!

Dead right. Church is not an instituation, a building or a committee. Perhaps one called Acts 2 and not St Someone or other might be interesting. Each time we meet to pray or worship that is church in the eyes of God. People mess about with the definitions of words.

if we are called to love Him ...why would church be heartless when everything about God has to do with love and loving Him and coming together to love Him . feel a lot happier attending prayer with you and everyone here on the board than attending service in church with ppl that dont' say hello ..don't know me and i don't know them .. and most of all with ppl that i don't feel too welcomed among ...

Buildthefarm - so agree. Some churches around here are "rockstar" churches- basically huge concerts where people line up outside and wait to go in. Alot of other churches don't believe in spiritual gifts for some reason. Someone invited me to a church next weekend - in Massachusetts lol - figure I'll make it a weekend thing then fly backon Sunday evening. That's how welcoming they were

churches here are very different. and with population majoritary into one denomination changing church is rather difficult

We should 'do' Church. In 'doing' Church we meet God's criteria for Church not our own. Wherever people meet together to worship and praise God there will be a battle to stop them. We have seen attacks here but perhaps through being a little more savvy and by being in touch with God those attacks have not stopped us. I am blessed with having a very good church close by but what I do there is only one small part of my walk with God. 1 or 2-3 things a week are not enough. So even when you find a good one it should leave you needing more. We are the children of God and we need to be with our father every day. We are not the divorced children of God who make do with seeing him once a week for a special treat. As for what denomination it is - that'd be a root inspection; we need to look at the fruit.

thank you all for reading my rant lol. as for the fruit inspection-good call i like that. as for denominations i disagree with the entire denominational system and i think it awta be destroyed completely. we have no business separating based on ideas. stubborn men created denominations and have decimated the church with the devils instrument. Jesus said be one, paul said quit arguing over who you follow and just follow Jesus and be humble enough to do so. it was obviously one of the devils earliest plans to mess up the church and it has worked but in the end time it will not stand. the church will be one and the denominations will be gone or they will change sides. i hate denominations!! can you tell?

i know yer dreams have this turmoil in them again so i thought i'd look this up & add to it... some people need structure....i refer a lot of people to john fenn's 'supernatural housechurch' thing.... he promotes people having house churches and provides mentorship, covering & some structure for peeps that are being led out of 'institutional' church land. i had wanted to be part or host one but we moved around that time & things were just too hectic. after that we realized that we were fine in what we were doing in our living room... no lack...and the bonus of fellowship and prayer covering that's carried over from stickam to here... so we are quite content.
i can tell you some important things especially to consider w/ young ones.... now you moved yer kids to a christian school, right? that will fill that socialization w/ other kids about Jesus....that is very important. our kids get shipped across the street every friday for a christian enrichment class--hadda sign up for it thru the school. but in the past...we filled that void by enrolling the kids in AWANA ...wherever we moved to, there was always one around & what's awesome is it's focus is scripture memorization and a global organization....you can see their booklets the kids will work in.... i was impressed, the kids loved it! so...whether it was the non-denom church hosting it, or the baptist one they went to...we didn't have to worry about them being doctrinally brainwashed or etc.... everything followed the book, nuff said.
aw shucks.... no one is musically talented in our family....so we make good use of our favorite praise n' worship songs on YT that have the lyrics listed. thru the kids gaming console, we are able to get YT to show up on our big screen and so it's a great time. we have picked up flags to wave over the years... we have staffs we use when praying via heavy battles... we are often walking thru the house singing w/ hands high or just however are led.
praying & seeking guidance re: structure in a diy church is a no-brainer. do what Jesus did... and whatever else. we pray a personalized psalm 91 during every service... have one boy reading a chapter of psalms & one of proverbs at the moment.... read from a child's story bible and then discuss the precepts...thanks/praise, a pray for session and lay hands & pray over eachother at the end. of course we take communion in there.... just giving highlights.
we no longer have the kids doing AWANA... because we don't have to hold their hands and feel like we r dragging them around spiritually. they 'get it', PRAISE GOD! even the first day of school this yr, my middle son was witnessing and telling us all about it when he came home. it used to be always about initiating things...but now they are the ones doing the initiating... and so that was our real strong clue. i can't say enough how important it is to pour into them every day (i kno u do this...just preach'in to the rest of the choir here)... much more important than the ritual of 'church'... and that's what i attribute this blessed maturity i'm seeing in them.
that 'now moment' of teaching far more important than 'oh, i better save this for church'. heck one day i pulled everyone in the kitchen & said, 'hey we needa tithe & the Lord has impressed this ministry reaching this people, whaddya think?' i read to them all the needs etc. & by the end of it the one was talking about tithing from the fair premium he just netted through 4-H.
every family is different....but if you continue to hit a brick wall in finding a church, just know that you have everything you need in doing home church. in the end we just want to praise, worship & honor Him & wherever that happens as the main focus is da place to be!

ive looked into awana and been considering it actually so thats great to know. 4H had never crossed my mind but wow that would be awesome. i bet they have that here. as for home church i may land there. and we will all kinda land there eventually anyway from my perspective lol. im not sure I'm ready for that yet. but I'm not sure i have options either. but organization is not my strong suite. not sure i could make it work without getting into a group. but then you likely run into the same issues there as you would in churches with buildings. well other than the national and international power structures that come with denominations.
it all changes day to day with me anyway so who knows how ill see it tomorrow. but for now all i really want is a place humble enough to search for truth, they dont have to know it all. in fact churches possitions on knowing it all are ridiculous. in my most recent idea of searching churches by doctrine ive been reading issue by issue on a few denominations and they are all set in stone one things that are uncertain, or dissagreed upon.
ill check into mr fenn and see how all that works. but i may be moving forward into a different deal in a few months but could be a few years not sure how thats gona play out. til then maybe i should just go around waring with church strongholds all over town and see if i can find out more cool stuff along the way!! the octopus thing has really made that prospect interesting to me. of course the books say that you do that you get hit back hard. but im not sure it isnt part of what im supposed to be doing. i mean I've got hit back but never like you read about. ill be praying about that possibility too. cuz thats really fun lol.
for now im going to go pray in service at the church im at until God changes it. maybe thats like an assignment for now.
ok kids are screaming and chain of thought is broken so im not sure about anything i just wrote except i need to pray it out.

"we have picked up flags to wave over the years... we have staffs we use when praying via heavy battles... we are often walking thru the house singing w/ hands high or just however are led".Well there's our answer everybody. We'll all go to church at F1's house. Sound's great to me! I don't have any flags but I think I have a few guitars stored away I could bring.
Definitely on my bucket list. Ah ... someday.

Yep - I was just thinking what great pastors F1 and Stingray would make. I hope that they will forgive me, but I just couldn't resist posting this video I stumbled across yesterday (first ever video posted by F1 on Youtube channel 6 years ago?). So funny
