ok so we found a vacation Bible school at another church in town and we heard it was good so we went with it. as part of it they were raising money for shoe boxes next Christmas. they decided on $150 as the goal for some reason(idk why they went so small) anyway if they raised it they got to duck tape the head guy to the wall and shoot him with water guns so yay, fun, lets do it, whooohooo!!
so i asked my son if he wanted to give some of his money and i would match it so he could give double. he was uninterested til we explained what it was for. he had saved up 28 dollars and needed 20 to get a toy hes been eyeing so but in the end he decided forget the toy ill just give it all!! well by this time his grandma had joined in on the match and so he took an 84 dollar piggy bank in and dumped it tonight. well tomorrow we are getting him the toy he wanted:) and not only that but he actually got called out up onto the stage and they announced his gift(not the best doctrine i dont think but what r ya gonna do) and gave him a place of honor by being one of the few who gets handed his own water gun a spraying time.
im hoping he learned a huge lesson about giving that will last forever but he is only 6 so we shall see. but there is something interesting about this child. God has a very special blessing on his life. for some reason in a group he always makes 10 friends, he leads the whole playground in games whenever we go, he won his school toad races, he gets called on stage....on and on it goes. not to mention the childhood God snatched him out of to put him where he is now(thats a long story). but God has a hand on him for something amazing and something that he cant get from me cuz i dont have it lol. my middle son is just like me and its easy for me to show him things but my oldest is my polar opposite in almost every way, and it makes him amazing. im not sure what the deal is but its interesting to watch and see what God is doing in his life.
