my church was great when i was a kid. then one day the pastors daughter had a dream. its still on the website.
One night at church camp while singing, she saw a mental picture of Jesus on the cross and she realized how much anger there was in her heart toward Him. As she was expressing that anger, Jesus reached down from the cross and hugged her.
that was almost 20 years ago but i remember it vividly. when he told the dream it was actually that his daughter was stabbing Jesus. that was the expression of anger.
after the telling of this story began a long road which began with the phrase "let me tell you about the God i know". in hind sight it seems it was not the God he had known prior. everything changed. eventually all other community churches cut ties, a cell tower was built with a huge cross over it, land was sold on the corner to a bank, they started a restaurant, and on and on to raise money. the entire staff was cut aside from the pastor and secretary over the years to follow. the preaching went completely universalist. theres no hell, a loving God wouldnt do that, God is God of everyone and all will wind up in heaven somehow or another. the church dwindled from one of the largest in town to way too small for that big building. a sad but common story in the US i know. i have always wondered tho what was the real meaning of that dream his daughter had. that dream changed the whole thing.

my husband had a similar vision -- w/ Jesus infront of the cross & he knew it was basically Jesus saying "last call.... you either follow ME or not". at the time we were backslidden... well.... we had a major change in our lives after that & from then on...it was never looking back. so i can't help but say it's a valley of decision thing...just from experience...but does that mean she didn't let go of anger etc.... and if it's for her & not her dad or the church.... well, maybe it's just memorable as a benchmark.
